Microsoft Azure has partnered with Nvidia to unveil the NVIDIA GB300 NVL72, the world's first supercomputing-scale production cluster designed for AI model development. The system, featuring over 4,600 NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra GPUs interconnected via Quantum-X800 InfiniBand, marks a significant leap in AI infrastructure capability.

The collaboration aims to solidify U.S. leadership in AI technology while supporting advanced workloads like OpenAI's inference models. Nidhi Chappell of Microsoft Azure highlighted the cluster's potential to handle unprecedented computational demands, reflecting the companies' decade-long partnership in pushing AI infrastructure boundaries.
